sustainability efforts

Small World Travel's mission is to educate families through travel. Equally important is the goal to support the environment and communities in these destinations. We do this by working with local partners and guides, supporting environmental projects, nature and local community projects.

You can learn more about these efforts in our sustainability stories below.

Carbon Neutral Travel

Small World Travel offers every client a calculation of the cost to offset the carbon emissions for their trip. Upon return home, every client is presented an opportunity to offset the cost of their emissions through a donation to a local environmental organization in their destination.

the botanical ark

The Botanical Ark is about conservation through understanding, highlighting sustainable living in tropical environments. Alan and Susie Carle have spent the last 40 years traveling the world to collect seeds from rainforests and planting them in their tropical paradise to gain insight in to environmental and cultural factors that can lead to humans living in harmony with their environment. Staying with them is an eye-opening experience, learning about their quest, feasting on tropical fruits and delicacies, and gaining a greater understanding how people can co-exist with rainforests with a positive impact on the planet.

Me To We

ME to WE Trips to Kenya, Ecuador and India are designed with a deep respect for the communities and an emphasis on sustainability and giving back. Through deeply connective and immersive experiences in partnership with communities, our families have gained new perspective and understanding on global, social and environmental issues. They have also contributed to development projects, helping speed completion of projects that continue year-round, led by skilled local workers. These shared experiences on community-led projects have resulted in transformational outcomes for both travelers and community members alike, and have been part of our regenerative philosophy of leaving a place better because of the things we've done together, as true partners.
